9 years old Sinjini Das* studies in Class IV of the Model School - ‘Kishalaya Sishu Siksha Niketan’ (KSSN). Sinjini lives with her family at Narendrapur village around 5 Km. from the school.

Sinjini’s father Mr. Amitabha Das* works as a Mason and the lone earner in the family. He earns around INR. 8000.00 per month. Her mother Mrs. Rumela Das*- a home maker takes care of their household chore. Thus, with the meager amount they struggle to meet their expenses.

But most strikingly both of Sinjini’s parents are determined to provide quality education to their daughter with an aspiration of a brighter tomorrow. Thus around six years back they got Tithi admitted to the Model School. Her parents say, “We have deep financial limitations. Yet, we want our daughter to have good education and bring up with proper Learnings of life. The model school- ‘Kishalaya Sishu Siksha Niketan’ has given us that opportunity- which could even imagined at such remote Sunderbans.”

Sinjini is a good student and has performed well in the first summative evaluation test. One of our teachers expressed: “Though now she is studying well, yet we expect much more from her.Hope that she will perform as expected in the coming days.”

As seen by the Doctor of ‘Swarnalata Sabuj Seva Sadan’- the Rural Health & Training Centre run by ‘Sabuj Sangha’ Tithi is owner of a good health and maintains personal hygiene very sincerely.

Besides studies Sinjini is good in varied range of sports – Khoko, Badminton, Race and many more. She takes care of her allocated plot dedicatedly along with her partner in the School Gardening. They are both alert in making it fruitful one.

Also she has an artistic inclination – She plays Tabla very well.

A remarkably promising girl with wonder in her eyes- Sinjini aspires to be a teacher.
