8 years old ever smiling Samapan* studies in Class III of the model school in deep remote corner of the Sunderbans delta run by ‘Sabuj Sangha’ namely ‘Kishalaya Sishu Siksha Niketan’ (KSSN). His father Mr. Sanjib* works as a daily wage labourer and the lone earner in the family. He earns around INR. 6000.00 per month. Samapan’s mother Mrs. Bidipta* is a home maker.
With very meager amount they struggle to meet all family requirements. Though, both of Samapan’s parents are determined to provide quality education to their son with an aspiration of brighter future. Thus around four years back they got Samapan admitted to the Model School in deep Sunderbans- ‘Kishalay Sishu Siksha Niketan’.
During the time of admission Samapan was a shy –timid boy- afraid of coming to school. “He was so timid at the beginning that he feared to go to school. But now school and activity of the school has become his main fascination.”- His parents expressed. The excelling heights in Samapan’s performance in education testify the parents’ statements. He has been a fast learner since very beginning – good in both vernaculars taught English and Bengali. He is deeply fascinated with the yoga class too and loves playing. He is also fond of drawing.
Though little week in Mathematics he is trying hard to be a better student under the strict mentoring of the Teachers. During the parents meet Samapan’s Mother says, “My child will be the best performer very soon.”
Samapan aspires to be a Police by profession. His good health, determination and focused attitude display his strong will to attain heights in pursuit of being successful.
