Govt. teacher admits his daughter in Model School

By Indranil Paik | Assistant Teacher

Mr. Nilkanta is a primary school teacher, resident of Mahabatnagar villager of Nandakumarpur Gram Panchayat. He enrolled his only daughter Ushasi in class I of Model Upper Primary School, the Kisholaya Sishu Siksha Niketan (KSSN) of Sabuj Sangha at her six (6) years of age. Question arises, being a primary school teacher why Mr. Nilkanta selected this un-aided private school for his daughter’s study? The history reveals; Sabuj Sangha has been running the Primary Teacher’s Training Institute within the campus of the organization since long and once upon a time Mr. Nilkantha was a teacher of this institute. During his stay he observed the nature of education was being provided to children in this school, its quality, teaching methodology, extra-curriculum activities, behavior change mechanism, discipline, children friendly school environment, dedication of passionate teacher, care to each & every student and health care & other facilities. As such; he is very much familiar about the performance of school and satisfied, whereas all such things are absent in Government primary schools as he personally experienced. He feels, proper education and care is being proved to children in this Model School and admitted his daughter.

Ushasi is now 10 years old, presently reading in class IV. When she admitted in class I, was little freckle-minded, most talkative, little week in mathematics and fond of playing more than her study. Initially her performance was average and used to get hardly 45% to 55% marks. Her father, knowing the fact guided her at home, checked school performance and helped her preparing home tasks. The teachers also laid greater attention to her along with others and progressively she started performing better and according to last school examination she secured above 80% mark and stood ‘Second’. Ushasi is exceptionally interested in drawing and painting as well as dance and participate in all the cultural activities of the school. She also participates in cultural functions outside the school in the locality. Her favorite subject is Bengali and wants to be a teacher in future.

Her father says, “I took right decision to enroll my daughter in Model School of Sabuj Sangha”.
