Dear Supporter,
Spring always bring new life into the fields and on the mountains in Tropoje. The greenness is fresh and a lovely contrast to the grey stark mountains or the empty school buildings.
The children in the villages and in schools eagerly await the return of the Mobile Library so they can exchange their books for new ones. Reading a book can be seen as old fashioned and having been replaced with new electronic readers and online books but for the children living in the villages where the internet is not accessible and the television is seen as the domain of adults intent on hearing the latest news and gossip, the books the library provides are the main source of entertainment, joy and escapism.
Joni aged 12 lives in a small hamlet and likes science fiction and fantasy books. He has been a member of the library for five years and although sceptical at first that he would enjoy books, he now reads avidly the new one each month.
As the only mobile resource for books and a source of information, the Mobile Library needs your support to keep running. Can you make a one-off donation or maybe a regular donation?
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
