8th report 1 million trees

Thank you for your support and donations of USD 1519. The Project enlightens the vision of AWARD Pakistan to combat the climate change through Plantation in Pakistan. AWARD Pakistan plans to plant 1 million trees in the next 5 years considering the fact that Pakistan is among the top 10 countries which will be most affected by the Climatic Changes. The country had faced several natural disasters on very large scale in the past decade due to rise in temperature such as earthquakes, famine, floods, deadly heatwaves etc.

During the last quarter, AWARD Pakistan initiated a plantation drive and planted nearly 12000 trees in the rural areas of District Muzaffargarh. The team also monitored the planted trees alsong with the communities. The 12000 plants will save the communites from floods which are very much frequent in these areas. The community cooperated in every aspect and took the lead in plantation of 12000 trees in the 6 respective areas.

AWARD wishes to extend the program to 25 villages in this year. For this purpose , we require more support from the supporters and donors. AWARD has already initiated a program with the help of GlobalGiving for the Relief , Recovery and Resilience for the flood which will also be targeting the training and tree plantation in it as well.

We would like to request our donors to continue their support , to help the people fight back harmful effects of climate change.
