Renewing the Mentoring Challenge Commitment

 For the first and second quarter of 2015, we at Idea Builders Initiative are Renewing the Commitment of support for the ‘contenders’ leading the charge in the various public schools. It is planned that we will host a Mentoring Breakfast for a total of 4 Cohorts between Jan and June.

Working in batches, the serving peer mentors (contenders) in the challenge are undergoing refresher capsule sessions with remarkable female champions of industry. These older mentors comprise the Idea Builders Women Leadership Council which has been in place since 2008.

Key Outcomes

• 20 Peer Mentors have been refreshed and energized to pursue further and achieve more for themselves as individuals and as peer mentors in their respective schools -substantiated by interviews, photographs and one-on-one discussions
• 100% of the first and second batches re-defined their expectations in furtherance of their respective pay-forward activities within their schools.

o   100% of the 20 Contenders accessed so-far are re-energized and prepared to take a risk –‘do something positive that scares you’

o   40% of the launched pay-forward mini projects have been completed.

• 100% percentage of contenders acknowledge that the Refresher Series was timely and adequate to get them back on track.
• 100% of mentees name at least one problem they believe was improved due to the Mentoring Challenge cycle, and many cite more than one.
• 50% mentors/mentees have participated in 2015 Mentoring Challenge Renewal series.
