Safe, friendly, and supportive environment for children at the wartime

By Yuliia Bazhenova | Communications manager

Our six child-friendly spaces continued active operations in Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kryvyi Rih, while the Bucha team prepared for the official launch of activities with children. Teams of mentors and psychologists conducted regular sessions for children and adolescents, as well as open sessions on environmental education over the last months.

In Dnipro the team engaged 212 unique children and conducted 24 regular sessions, 30 open sessions, and 28 eco-sessions. During the eco-sessions, children learned about waste sorting and repurposing natural materials, and created holiday cards using natural elements.

In Kyiv 2 the team engaged 51 unique children and conducted 18 regular sessions, 29 open sessions, and 28 eco-sessions.

In Kryvyi Rih the team engaged 154 unique children and conducted 24 sustainability sessions, 16 open sessions, and 17 eco-sessions.

In Mykolaiv the team engaged 280 unique children and conducted 24 regular sessions, 25 open sessions, and 23 eco-sessions.

In Odesa the team provided services to 413 unique children, conducting 24 sessions of the ongoing course, 37 open sessions, and 7 eco-sessions.

Instead, we are assembling a team in the city of Bucha and conducting training and preparations for the location's launch. The team has been hired and has completed the necessary training; enrollment of children in groups and for open events is already underway, information regarding sessions for parents and guardians is being disseminated, and sign-ups for individual psychological consultations have begun.

The teams continue to refine the content of the sessions, ensuring a safe, friendly, and supportive environment for children affected by the consequences of the war.

We are deeply grateful for your trust and support.

We ask you to continue standing with the children of Ukraine, so that even during the war, they can have access to education, feel cared for, and grow up in safety.

With gratitude,
The SpivDiia for Children Team
