The Mental Health First Aid for 1,000 Adolescents project is currently in its fundraising and implementation phase, with a total project goal of $7,000. To date, the project has received $1 from 2 donors, leaving $6,999 remaining to fully finance the planned activities. No monthly donors have been secured so far. The project is designed to run over 8 months, providing sufficient time to mobilize resources, coordinate participating schools, train students, establish peer support structures, and strengthen referral pathways.
Funds raised will support certified trainers, training materials, school-based sessions, student learning resources, coordination, monitoring, and the establishment of confidential referral mechanisms. Once adequately funded, the project will train 1,000 senior secondary school students to recognize signs of emotional distress, provide appropriate peer support, and encourage affected students to seek professional assistance.
With only a small portion of the required funding currently secured, additional donor support remains critical to achieving the project's target. Successful fundraising will enable the Foundation to reach more schools, equip adolescents with practical mental health first-aid skills, reduce stigma, and create sustainable peer-support networks that can benefit thousands of students beyond the initial 1,000 participants.
