We are happy to report that our campaign has been completed, and we have gathered sufficient funds to purchase reusable, sustainable menstrual products for 2 organizations that support women and children in need in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Throughout the past year and a half, as initiated by former CHAPS CEO Jacqui Pienaar, we have been conducting a fundraising campaign supported by GlobalGiving, to collect funds that would be used tosupply women and girls in need with sustainable menstrual products. Our hard work has paid off, and on Friday 10 December we donated over 150 packs of reusable pads, and 20 silicone menstrual cups to the following organizations:
The Home of Hope for Girls offers a safe residence to children and teens who have survivedabusive situations, predominantly linked to child sex trafficking. They have two homes in the suburbs of Johannesburg, in addition to an outreach centre in the Hillbrow/Berea area. Intotal, there are 75 girls in full-time care and another 150 children are supported by the outreach programme. Their vision is to end child trafficking in South Africa and the culture of exploitation and violence which robs children of their future; and to restore safety, dignity and opportunity to those who have survived this abuse.

Uitkoms Home for Girls is a registered Child and Youth Care Centre that has the precious undertaking of offering shelter, protection, professional counselling, and life guidance toyoung women from disadvantaged backgrounds. Many of the girls in their care are thevictims of rape, abuse, abandonment, and neglect, and some are referred during pregnancy.Their mission is to 'give back girls their lives'. Through support, anger-management, professional counselling, appropriate therapy and psychological evaluation, the girls are given the assistance and tools for recuperation and reintegration - a platform from which to start fresh.
