By Days for Girls International | The Development Team
Dear GlobalGiving Community,
Thank you for your continued partnership with Days for Girls and for standing with refugee and displaced women and girls in Lebanon.
In our last report, we shared the successful completion of a project that reached 900 refugee women and girls across North Lebanon, Akkar, and Tripoli with locally produced Days for Girls Kits and menstrual health education. Since then, we have been focused on planning and preparing for the next phase of this important work.
We are pleased to share that our 2026 project plans have now been finalized. This year, the Days for Girls Social Enterprise in Lebanon aims to reach 1,300 refugee and internally displaced women and girls with menstrual health education and washable menstrual products.
The need for this support continues to grow. Alongside refugee communities already living in Lebanon, ongoing conflict has displaced many Lebanese families from their homes, particularly from southern regions of the country. Many families have been forced to leave their homes and relocate to other parts of the country, often with limited access to essential services and supplies. Women and girls facing displacement frequently experience additional barriers to managing their menstrual health, making access to menstrual products and education especially important.
In response, our local team is preparing to expand its reach to both refugee and internally displaced populations, ensuring that menstrual health remains an essential part of humanitarian assistance.
The Days for Girls Social Enterprise in Lebanon has already been hard at work securing materials, strengthening supply chains, and producing the 1,300 washable DfG Kits that will be distributed through this project. We are also pleased to share that implementation is now underway. In May, the Days for Girls Social Enterprise in Lebanon began distributing DfG Kits alongside other essential hygiene items to refugee and internally displaced women and girls. These distributions are helping ensure that women and girls have access to the resources they need to manage their health and hygiene with dignity during a time of continued uncertainty and displacement.
One of the most powerful aspects of this work is that it is led by women from the communities being served. The Social Enterprise team, composed primarily of refugee women, not only produces the Kits but also helps deliver education and support with deep understanding, trust, and cultural relevance. Through their leadership, menstrual health support reaches women and girls with dignity and care.
As implementation begins, we look forward to sharing stories and outcomes from the women and girls reached through this project. Your support is helping ensure that menstrual health is not overlooked during times of crisis and displacement, providing comfort, knowledge, and dignity when it is needed most.
Thank you for making this work possible!
With deep appreciation,
The Days for Girls Team
