On 25th November 2022, 11 girls died in a fire outbreak at salama school for the blind in Uganda. Later on 1 more girl died in the hospital, this made the girls be 12 in total who lost their lives.
We called upon you to be part of the memorial construction for our beloved blind girls who died.
Thank you so much that we reached the goal and recived the funding to build this memorial garden. The team at MULIA Foundation is here to inform you that the construction started and the gardens are in the process to be set up in the memory of the 12 girls. The memorial sensory garden will have 12 gardens each dedicated to one of the girls who died. The garden will have sensory flowers so that the current students can always smell them when relaxed in the garden.
The middle of the garden will have a shade that works as a resting space for the school community., Path ways to access various gardens and information about the 12 girls who died.
The path ways are in the shape of a heart which represents the love we all have for the lost souls.
Students are back to school and we are looking forward to involve the parents and other community members in theplanting of the flowers in the memorial garden.
We again want to appreciate all the support you rendered for making sure that all this happenes. You have made a school enviroment have a good memorial site for these souls.
May you be blessed.
From all of us at MULIA Foundation and Salama School for the blind.
