Raising Awareness for Melipona Bee Conservation Through Culture
Dear friends,
Thank you for your continued interest in and support for our Melipona bee conservation project.
During the recent Long Nights of Interculturality 2026 in Vienna, organized by the International Cultural Diversity Organization (ICDO), we had an opportunity to raise awareness of our conservation work in Mexico and the importance of protecting Melipona beecheii, the sacred stingless bee of the Maya people.
The festival brought together people from diverse cultural backgrounds, providing a valuable platform to increase the visibility of our project and highlight the connection between cultural heritage, Indigenous traditional knowledge, and biodiversity conservation.
We hope this increased visibility will help us reach new supporters and attract further donations to continue our conservation efforts with Maya communities in Mexico.
We are continuing to explore funding opportunities and look forward to sharing another update soon about our next steps and planned activities.
In the meantime, we warmly invite you to support our project by donating or sharing it with others who care about biodiversity and Indigenous cultural heritage.
Thank you for being part of our journey!
With gratitude,
International Cultural Diversity Organization (ICDO)
