Hello Friend!
Thank you again for your continued support of Aspen! We could not provide Animal Assisted Therapy to our clients without your generous support.
Aspen turned two years old February 26, 2017. It has been an incredible journey watching her grow into her job. She is at the agency three days a week working with clients before and after sessions. She just loves people! Her ability to sense high levels of stress in people had developed well. A client may say they are ok but Aspen knows better! With just a lean greet and she cuddles into "home" position, the clients begins to feel loved, safe and nutured.
She also attends public events where she draws quite a crowd! This gives us such an opportunity to talke about her job, where she works, and the realities of sexual assault statistics in our community.
Our next step in our strategic plan is to begin the school prevention program Paws Off. The development process is going to be an investment of time and resources. We need a graphic artist to develop and cartoon the characters for the books as well as the coloring books. We need a elementary educator to aid in story line development to ensure the information is age appropriate. We also need supplies and to print materials once the project is complete.
We have written a grant to help support the next steps of program development. All donations will now be invested into this next stage of development. Please share our project with others! We will keep you posted as the program progresses. Thank you again for your amazing support!
