Happy April from Aspen and the dedicated staff of Fair Haven Rape Crisis Center.
Aspen turned 6 years old on February 26, 2021 and we are so grateful to have her on staff working with clients for the last five years! As you can see in the attached pictures, Aspen spends her days supporting surivvors of sexual violence as they move through the judicial system and the journey of recovery.
April is Sexual Assualt Awareness Month (SAAM). Our office is busy with many community outreach activies and lots of art expression activites for the Survivors we serve. Aspen is sporting a new teal harness & leash in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Usually for SAAM, we host our Annual Walk in the Park. However, due to COVID and gathering restrictions, we have pushed our event out to June 19, 2021. We would love to invite you to participate in person or from wherever you are! We are encouraging our community to use GlobalGiving to create a fundraising page and support your favorite program (like Aspen!). This event has always focused on the resiliency of survivors and the importance of Advocates. Aspen will be at the event dressed in her teal and excited to see everyone!
We are so grateful for your continued support of Aspen and our Therapy Dog Program. This program is 100% community funded! So, every donation you make goes directly to support Aspen.
We are looking forward to a new year and many new opportunities for Aspen as we begin to luanch our Anit-Trafficking Program. From additional services to HT Survivors to going into the courtroom during testifying! Stay tuned as we continue to grow!
