Haiti One Year Report

By Chiqui Flowers | Marketing Coordinator

A natural disaster knows no boundaries. A natural disaster can happen anywhere and to anyone. It can happen in an instant. Or it can happen over time. What matters is helping people heal long-term. What matters is equipping them to meet their own needs long-term.

And that’s what Medical Teams International is committed to bring to the people in Haiti. We are committed to real healing − meeting physical needs and working with local churches who will meet spiritual needs.

On January 12, 2010, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Southern Haiti. More than 230,000 people were killed, and millions more were left injured and homeless.

This earthquake has been called the worst disaster to hit the country in 200 years.

Medical Teams International staff and volunteers were on the ground in Haiti within three days following the earthquake. Through your generosity, we have brought healing and hope to thousands of survivors.
