Our February 2016 Medical Outreach was a succes and we'd like to highlight one of the most important services we offer. When we go to rural villages we often see people who have serious medical conditions. We deem these 'life threatening or life changing' conditions. These conditions are such that a relatively simple surgery or medical procedure could drastically change the quality of life for an individual.
One of the most impactful cases are those of eye cataracts. Most cataract patients require a surgery which will allow them to restore most of their vision. This surger costs 85,000 TSH, of which we pay 60,000 and request the family contribute 25,000 TSH.
We successfully had two cataract surgeries after our medical caravan. It makes us so happy to see the patients with joy in their face as they are now able to recognize the team!
