Empowering Turkmen communities throughout Eurasia

By Batyr Sapar | Project Leader

Since the launch of the pilot project "Empowering Turkmen Communities Throughout Eurasia" the total number of our Social Network population has reached 6,850. Our established networking with journalists, experts and academics is committed to supporting and promoting democratic processes, independent media and civil society in Eurasia.
We generated information and published news reports on current events, economics and politics, science and culture, health and sports issues and disseminated through our web site www.turkmenistan-diaspora.org and social networking. We designed pages on Facebook (Number of followers: 2044) https://www.facebook.com/td.media.network, Twitter (350) https://twitter.com/td_network and Odnoklassniki.ru (2140) http://www.odnoklassniki.ru/profile/558863058918, Moy Mir (1673) http://my.mail.ru/mail/td.media.network/, (643) http://vk.com/id213129974
We expanded our membership and became a member of Project Syndicate, a famous international publishing network that brings original, engaging, and thought-provoking commentaries by esteemed leaders and thinkers from around the world to readers everywhere. This membership allows us to use and translate the resource of this network into Turkmen.

Our Foundation offered internship opportunity for two students from Europe who develop their skills in journalism and contribute their knowledge to further development of our project.

We continue our intensive work on publicizing the project. We were interviewed for the Style magazine in Folsom, CA to be schedule for publication in September. In July we had two meetings with federal and local government officials in Folsom where we shared information about the project and discussed issues of cooperation with possible donors.

Communication with possible donors on fundraising is continuing.
