Meals 4 ALL program report ( breakfast, lunch and Lunch Boxes) Coordinated by our programs Manager: khethisa Borotho Facilitated by the Meals program Coordinator: Precious Ndlovu Meals one of the struggles of life in the disadvantaged community of Kliptown after the Pandemic of Covid19, it is also one of the struggles of life in Kliptown is inadequate nutrition for growing young bodies. With the high rate of unemployment in the community of Kliptown, some families cannot provide 3 meals a day for their families which is a huge problem for especially for our young people who are still in school. We as Each One Teach One have created this kind of a program that helps to support disadvantaged families who have kids. MEALS 4 ALL- targeting young people who are going to school, providing them with lunch boxes and 3 meals a day for each child and as well as other members of the community that faces the same problem and challenges, the aim for such programs is to become supportive figures and never turn a blind eye on such situations and also to meet the needs of other disadvantaged families through providing thing such as the school uniform for kids. The Pandemic has created high rate of unemployment and leaving a lot of families in huge challenges, some lost their jobs and others can’t even start from where they left. The meals programs have played a huge role in supporting the community of Kliptown and its people, from January until now we have worked hand in hand with the leadership of Kliptown, the local counselor and many more stakeholders in community of Kliptown who want to help in these hard times. With one of the other organizations’, we have worked with we tried our level best in giving our youth as much support as we can. Since we have been getting more and more young people who want to join our program, we have agreed to send some of the kids to their center as they don’t have any young people. Currently we are providing meals to a number of + 255 young people from the community of Kliptown and some of the young people who got referred to us by schools we introduce them to the Freedom Park community project that we are currently working with. We prepare 300 meals for lunch and also 300 lunch boxes daily to accommodate as much young people as we can. Support a Child program: Support a child program was created to help young people who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, mostly with families that no one is working or not even receiving social grants from the government. Our plan was to help support in a way of providing them with groceries and clothes for the kids mostly in a way that they also get to belong as well. Currently we are working with 50 families from the community of Kliptown and we are also aiming to support as much families as we can in the future.
