Work is underway on the pitch for the Mbale Clubhouse ... the first step in the re-furbishment of the clubhouse in Eastern Uganda.
Craig Davis of CED Consulting Ltd, a horticultural whizz experienced in pitch and grounds work, has donated two weeks of his time to travel to Uganda and provide professional direction to this critical stage of the project.
Using a combination of local labour, rugby volunteers and even the children in the neighbouring orphanage, preparation work has been completed in time for the grader to come on site and beginning the task of ripping and leveling the ground. Even the local police were there to help (stand around with their guns !).
This is a really exciting stage. The pitch will host an international match in 4 months time ... so nature has to work very quickly ... fortunately thats Uganda !
