One of the greatest sources of pride for the Cojolya Education Program is being able to support our students as they progress in their education. Each school year brings new challenges, responsibilities, and opportunities, and it means a lot to us to see how the support they receive gradually translates into confidence, learning, and new goals.
On this occasion, we’d like to share two stories that reflect that process.
A journey that is reaching its goal
One of our students is currently in the final stage of her high school education, where she is pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Over the past few years, we have had the opportunity to support her at various points in her educational journey.
The Educational Card has enabled her to access the school supplies she needs to continue her studies, while access to a computer—whether through borrowing a device to use at home or by utilizing the resources available at Cojolya—has also been essential for completing assignments and projects that require digital tools.
Her journey has also allowed us to see her put what she learns into practice. As part of her education, she participated alongside her classmates in entrepreneurship and sales activities—experiences in which she had to apply knowledge and skills related to her major. It was special for us to be able to support her during those moments as well, even by purchasing products she offered as part of her academic activities.
Recently, one of the most significant moments of this journey took place: her seminar presentation, an event that marks the conclusion of an important stage in her education. She and her classmates presented the results of their work and had the opportunity to share this achievement with people who have supported her throughout the process, including a member of Cojolya.
Following this event, her next challenge will be her supervised practicum—a new step outside her usual environment that will bring her even closer to completing her studies and graduating.
Seeing her make it this far fills us with pride. Behind this moment lie years of effort, assignments, learning, challenges, and small opportunities in which the Education Program was able to play a part. Today we see not only a student nearing graduation; we see the result of supporting a dream along its journey.
Small Steps That Build Confidence
Another one of our students, currently in first grade, has also given us moments that remind us why this program is so important.
Her mother has proudly shared various experiences her daughter has had. One of them was finding out that she had been chosen as the distinguished flag bearer for her grade—something that filled both the girl and her family with happiness and pride.
Her growing involvement with Cojolya has also been part of her personal growth. When she accompanied her mother to the Association, she gradually began to feel more comfortable and reached out to receive support and review the school subjects she found most challenging. Over time, that girl who initially might have felt shy began to participate with greater confidence.
We also remember with particular joy her participation as her grade’s “godmother” during a school activity. For us, these moments represent something that goes beyond the materials we can provide: they mean accompanying a girl as she discovers that she can participate, learn, express herself, and take on new challenges.
We Continue to Be Part of Their Stories
These two students are at very different stages of their education, but they both show us something they have in common: education is built step by step.
From the materials needed for an assignment, access to a computer, or support to overcome an academic challenge, to helping a student prepare for her seminar presentation before starting her internship and as she nears graduation, every opportunity counts.
At Cojolya, we are proud of our students and grateful to be part of their stories. Our hope is to continue supporting them—not only so they can keep studying, but so they can move forward with confidence toward the opportunities they dream of for their future.
