Project Report | Dec 12, 2024
Report on the Matinza School Project

By Helena Sladky | Fundraising/Communications Officer

Dear Donors,

In the past four months running from August 16, 2024 to December 14, 2024, we thrived to achieve the goals the Matinza Sanitation project has set out to do. The Right to Quality Education team has continuously aimed to generate as many donations as possible, mainly through close collaboration with the UWC primary school in Maastricht as well as IS Almere and the IF Cologne. We are currently working on organizing Walk for Water events at each of these schools next year.

Additionally, we are expanding the expertise and knowledge of our Right to Quality Education team. We have recruited a number of new volunteers who have experience in managing projects, fundraising, and advertising effectively so that we can complete the project. The new members mobilize their direct environment for donations as a next step and are currently coming up with a more sustainable plan on how to generate regular donations. Additionally, we have adjusted the emails we send out to companies and schools to be more appealing. As part of our continuouseffort to reach out to new possible donors (both, schools and companies) we have adjusted our fundraising strategies based on the GlobalGiving workshops and other valuable sources of input.

As a team, we have designed a brochure which entails all of our ongoing projects, another one displaying the Matinza project and our Walk for Water events in detail as well as a promotional video to make a collaborationmore appealing for potential new donors. Furthermore, we published a magazine where interested individuals can read more about our purpose and projects, and articles on different issues related to education on the African continent.

Please let us share a message with all donors: You make a huge impact on the lives of many school girls and boys by providing them with proper sanitation and adequate water, by doing so combating absenteeism and preventing the lack of access to quality education. Be sure to follow the Centre for African Justice, Peace, and Human Rights on social media to be informed about updates on the Matinza project and any upcoming events.
