As we enter into the new year, the Centre for African Peace, Justice and Human Rights (CAJPHR) would like to update all of our supporters for the Matinza project on our successes as well as our future plans to reach the donation goal.
Having successfully completed the GlobalGiving accelerator program, CAJPHR became an officially vetted partner with GlobalGiving. In addition to this, we have raised 1467 USD towards our 8000 USD goal to begin construction of new toilet facilities at the Matinza Primary School. All of the donations received from GlobalGiving goes directly towards the construction costs. While Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdowns have posed challenges to fundraising efforts, we are adapting with this new year to meet our goal.
Our upcoming plans to reach our monetary goal will not only be to participate in the incentive days hosted by GlobalGiving, but also through two virtual events: a roundtable discussion with people directly working in the education sector on the continent, and a virtual music event.
