Note: On Giving Tuesday, the Maternity Ward received four donations via GlobalGiving for a total of $745. GlobalGiving added bonuses of $275.65 for the Materniaty Ward, giving a total of $1020.65.
In the month of September 2019, the African Great Lakes Initiative has given FWA a grant of $3200 towards the $5800 second floor cost. Then FWA members have organized themselves to donate the $2600 to complete the walls of the second story. The pictures below show the progress of our building project.
When this is completed, the following step will be to roof the structure. The timber for the rafters will cost $4,000 and 120 iron sheets will be $2,760 ($23 per sheet) for a total of $6,760. From September 2019 up to December 23rd, 2019, we have raised $855 for the maternity ward ($4238 raised of $10,000) through Global Giving. Just Trust has also donated $1179 for organizational level through Global Giving. So, the total ($2034 can work for the iron sheets). Then, we will still need $4000 for the rafters.
We are very thankful for the work we have already done. We strongly appreciate all our donors. We still hope to raise more funds through Global Giving. Whoever who is reading this report can forward it to friends or relatives so that we can complete the roofing with iron sheets by February 2020.
