Since 2000, Village HopeCore International has used a preventive model to break the cycle of poverty in rural Kenya. Our "Educate, Prevent, Treat, Advise" model, supported by 1,265 Community Health Promoters, provides a continuum of care to underserved communities. We provide treatment for all common illnesses, immunizations, ANC/PNC services, and cervical cancer screening. Our mobile clinics ensure geography is no barrier to survival.
In Tharaka Nithi, Kenya, 41 out of every 1,000 children die before age 5. Stunting affects 1 in 4 children, fueled by "nutrient theft" from parasites. Without urgent Antenatal Care (ANC) and nutrition in the first 1,000 days of their lives, children face physical and cognitive disability, permanently limiting a child's future potential.
Our "Educate, Prevent, Treat, Advise" model, supported by 1,265 Community Health Promoters (CHPs), provides a preventive shield through four pillars: 1. Clinic nurses treat all common ailments and provide immunizations .2. We provide ANC/PNC services, cervical cancer screening, and family planning in remote areas 3. Monthly, we track child development, providing deworming, vitamin A, and nutrition support 4. We train "Nutrition Champions" to help mothers build climate-resilient kitchen gardens
1. 100% of underserved mothers in the villages now have a clinic within walking distance, eliminating "death by distance." 2. Our intervention has contributed to a 38% reduction in moderate stunting locally. 3. By integrating screenings and immunizations into mobile units, we capture "lost" patients, helping Kenya meet its 2030 health goals. 4. We maintain a 78.5% beneficiary satisfaction rate, proving that the community values this preventive approach.
