During this trying time of COVID-19, it is more important than ever that survivors of sexual violence know there are resource available to help.
As we are discovering, there are many who have experienced extreme isolation during stay-at-home orders. For survivors, sexual trauma can amplify these feelings of loneliness, which can exacerbate symptoms of post-traumatic stress.
And for others who may be trapped in a home environment with a sexually-abusive parent, sibling, spouse, etc., having access to outside services and support can be a crucial lifeline.
MapYourVoice.org can be an important part of survivors’ crucial infrastructure - by providing a safe, anonymous place to share their stories, access local services and crisis lines, and gain support from the community-at-large.
Thanks again for all your support!
Wishing you safety and health.
