Dear Supporters of the Ariela Foundation,
As always, we are extremely grateful and appreciative of your donations to the Maof Program for gifted students which is now assisting around 20 Israeli youth of Ethiopian origin with great potential to excel. With your assistance, this program is helping to change and improve the lives of talented individuals that will become the future leaders and role models of Ethiopian Jewry in Israel.
Throughout the third quarter of 2011, Ariela continued to deliver tailor made assistance programs that included tutorial lessons, scientific workshops, scholarships, educational/professional guidance sessions, one on one professional mentoring, after school enrichment programs, financial assistance with dormitory costs, financial assistance with travel expenses, funding of educational supplies, funding of professional equipment, piano lessons, group enrichment activities and giving back to the community work.
Our newest Maof program participant includes an additional professional cyclist named Tadela.
Tadela is a 15 year old high school student that lives with his parents and four brothers in the town of Beit Shemesh. His unique talent was identified by a volunteer cycling club named “Shimshon Riders” that claims that with the right long term support, he has the potential to represent Israel at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Recently, Tadela was accepted to the National Israel Cycling Team for cadets. Mr. Ofir Gal-On, the coach of the national mountain cycling team, describes his potential as follows, “Throughout the past two seasons, the rider Tadela has demonstrated outstanding talent and sporting abilities. The quality of his riding, in addition to his personal commitment to the sport, has led me to the decision to allow him to join the Israeli National Cycling Team in the cadet category.”
Beyond assistance in purchasing professional equipment for cycling, Ariela assists Tadela by providing him throughout the current school year with one on one tutorial lessons in select subjects, personal mentoring and ongoing support to improve both his educational and athletic achievements.
Attached you will also find some pictures of Maof Program participants whose lives you are helping to change with your kind donations.
