The past 03th and October 4th, we got together members of Fishermen Associations (ASOPEZ and APREMAA) from Costa Rica's South Pacific to share experiencies in community mangrove conservation. The activity was also attended by members of other national groups such as SINAC (National System for Conservation Areas), UCR (University of Costa Rica) and INAMU (National Institute for Women).
We also organized a day of reforestation of 200 trees of red mangrove (Rhizophora mangle) in "Sierpe National Wetland". About 30 people attended to this exciting activity, including children from "Ajuntaderas School". Although it was very hot, we enjoyed the experience and were satisfied with the work. Nothing better than mud up to the face!!!
Thanks to your support, we can keep working to help locals care for 10.000 mangroves.
