Our Nursery is Ready!

By Karla Cordoba | Communications Officer

transporting materials into the mangrove forest
transporting materials into the mangrove forest

Thanks to the hard work of our local allies of Asociación de Piangueros de Ajuntaderas (APREMAA) with support of Lorena and Ebenezer from Neotrópica's technical team, and of course thanks to YOU who have supported us to make this possible ... the nursery in Ajuntaderas is finally a reality!

2,000 mangrove seedlings will grow with us in the nursery for several months until they reach the height and strength needed to be transplanted their permanent home.

A mangrove nursery is very special. The seedlings need specific conditions to survive, so we need to choose the location very carefully, of course, with the advise of local people (they know best).

The day we built the nursery many people joined us, although it was really hard they worked cheerfully, and it was worth it!

Here we share to you pictures of the process, which would not have been possible without you!

We were muddy, very tired, but happy to see that we can make a difference together!

Thank you!!

(and thank to all that donated during the Bonus Day this october 15th!  You can still donate if you haven't done it yet)

Ps. Please consider switch your support to a "recurring donation". A recurring donation is easy to set up and automatically goes from your credit card to Neotrópica each month, so you can help us planting hope in these coastal communities.
