Two Schools from the Wetland will be part of Blue Communities Project
Environmental education is a fundamental part of our Blue Communities project. Fundación Neotrópica will develop “environmental clubs" in schools in communities near the Térraba Sierpe National Wetland.
The children in these Environmental Clubs will participate in workshops on specific topics of mangrove conservation and the environment in general, and also they will be part of our reforestation days.
On September 19 and 20 the Blue Communities Project was presented to two schools: Eduardo Garnier in Palmar Norte and the School at Diquís Valley in Ciudad Cortés. The children and their teachers showed great interest and enthusiasm in being participants in this initiative.
Thanks to your kind support we will start working on 2014 with the environmental clubs in both schools and in the CEN-CINAI (children´s care center) in Palmar Norte. We wil be also working with the one-teacher school of Ajuntaderas.
We can't wait to start!
