Mama Rescue Project Progress Report 11/25/19

We are actively engaged with our final pre-implementation activities for a planned launch of Mama Rescue in January/February of 2020. On November November 10th, Brick by Brick was informed that we were awarded a 350,000 EUR($390,000 USD) grant for Mama Rescue from Enabel, the Belgian Development Agency. In addition to our $50,000 grant from Dining for Women and your support, we now have the resources to fully implement Mama Rescue in our two districts. To date we have accomplished the following:

Finalized contract negotiations with our local IT partner Yo Uganda to adapt/ update the Mama Rescue mobile phone platform
Met with Chair of the MTN Foundation regarding the level of MTN in-kind support
Finalized budget and workplan for Mama Rescue activities for the coming year.
Signed grant agreement with Enabel-Wehubit, a program of the Belgian Development Agency
Outreach to all taxi driver associations that will be participating in Mama Rescue.
Outreach to SafeBoda in Kampala, who will be facilitating our taxi driver safety course.
Contracted with US IT consultant to create integrated data system that will include the vast data from our Babies and Mothers Alive Program and Mama Rescue
On-going meetings held with Rakai and Kyotera District Government
