We are currently in the pre-implementation phase of the Mama Rescue Project. We have held meetings with the local Ministry of Health officials of the Rakai and Kyotera Districts. In addituon, we are currently awaiting a decision from MTN, the largest mobile phone network provider in sub-Saharan Africa regarding their in-kind investment in Mama Rescue. Pending the receipt of our $50,000 grant from Dining for Women, earmarked for Mama Rescue and a $25,000 grant from the Spring Forward Foundation, we plan to begin our Phase I pilot in June of 2019. Prior to implementation of our transportation initiative, we will begin recruitment and training of local motorcycle and automobile taxi drivers, and health facility staff.
Signed MoHs with district health authorities, taxi drive associations and the MoH, will be completed and signed by June 30th of 2019.
