Reclining Buddha in Chiang Mai, Thailand
As is typical during the summer months, we experienced a seasonal dip in traffic from June 1 to August 31, with 601,385 readers visiting our website—an average of 6,466 daily users, which aligns with previous summer trends. While overall readership is down during summer, engagement remains global, with visitors primarily from Russia, the United States, Germany, India, Italy, Spain, Brazil, France, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. Among the most-read content this quarter were the Sutra of Golden Light (Russian), Praises to the Twenty-one Taras (Tibetan), and Advice before Starting the Path (Italian), as well as popular articles such as What is Buddhism, What Is Prayer in Buddhism, and 10 Basic Buddhist Beliefs, in both English and Russian.
Over on social media, our reach continues to expand. Our YouTube content was viewed by over 145,000 people, who spent the equivalent of 240 full days watching videos on Buddhist teachings. This quarter, standout performers included How to Escape the Cycle of Samsara by Geshe Namdak, Who is Tara? by Bhikshuni Thubten Chodron, and Robin Moore’s The Ancient Buddhist Meditation You’ve Probably Never Heard Of. Meanwhile, our presence on Facebook, Instagram, and X remains strong, with Instagram growing by an impressive 31% over the past three months.
This summer, we’ve also made considerable progress across all areas of our content and media work. We composed and published in-depth teachings, including multipart analyses on ignorance according to different Buddhist tenet systems and sections from Tsongkhapa’s Lam-rim chen-mo. We edited and released transcripts from weekend courses, including those on tantra and dependent arising, and continued work on major translation projects and AI-assisted transcription and editing of key teachings. Notably, we completed and published 242 translations and began processing 87 audio recordings from a series on Buddhist logic and debate.
Here are some of our major accomplishments from June through August 2025:
