By Dr. Alexander Berzin | Founder and Author of Berzin Archives
These last three months we have continued to expand our focus on the Asian script language sections of our website, studybuddhism.com. After successfully migrating our 12 Roman and Cyrillic script language sections from the old berzinarchives.com format, structure and style to the new, we began work on our 9 Asian script sections. By the time of our last report, we had completed moving the first of these, the traditional Chinese character section for our readers from Taiwan and Hong Kong. During this first quarter of 2018, we have continued the process, successfully migrating our simplified Chinese character section – for visitors from China, Malaysia and Singapore – followed by Japanese and then Hindi. The migration of any language section not only requires extensive translation of our newly prepared articles and interface, but also considerable re-editing of the previously translated articles from the old site. For this formidable task, we congratulate the wonderful job done by our various language teams and our content management and editorial staff.
We have now started work on our four Arabic script languages, starting with Arabic itself. In preparation for the migration, our technical team has adapted our html editor, which generates our website, to handle right-to-left scripts.
Here are some of our other accomplishments during these three months:
We look forward to more exciting developments in the next quarter. With your continuing support, we shall “Make the Ageless Wisdom of Tibet Available to All.”
