Dear Donors,
Winter has given way to spring in the therapeutic garden.
Spring has been the season of the year in which the most changes and stimuli can be observed in the Garden. Plants bloom and bear fruit allowing us to see, smell and feel different colors, shapes, smells and textures that allow the stimulation of the different senses and cognitive abilities.
A multitude of therapies with children, adolescents and adults have been successfully carried out during these months in which the weather has been excellent in Madrid.
At this time, one of the main uses of this space as a therapeutic tool has been the stimulation of cognitive abilities (memory, attention, executive functions and language) through activities that involve recognising smells, naming and memorising the names of some of the species, selecting plants according to colour, or proposing routes within the space passing through the different areas. among others.
In addition, it has been the perfect time to be able to carry out group therapy and social skills sessions in a space that inspires calm and is more motivating than any room. The group work area within this environment invites creativity and joint work, essential elements for the development of the socio-affective capacities of the patients who work in it.
Finally, the professionals have developed training sessions, team meetings to review clinical cases and feedback sessions with families in the spaces set up for this purpose.
We are getting more and more out of the garden, impacting a great diversity of profiles! Thank you all for continuing to support this magnificent project.
With gratitude,
Eugenia
