Dear GlobalGiving Donors,
We are overjoyed to share the incredible success of the Rana Chiva bus, which has reached nearly 30,000 rural Colombian school children with vital environmental education! Thanks to your unwavering support, we’ve been able to travel across some of Colombia’s most remote areas, inspiring thousands of young minds to protect their local ecosystems and the endangered species that call them home. The enthusiasm from these children has been truly heartwarming, and their growing passion for conservation is a direct reflection of the impact you’ve helped us create.
With this phenomenal success, we are thrilled to announce the next exciting chapter in this journey: the Reinita Chiva! Thanks to a small grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and generous donations from supporters like you, we are transforming the Rana Chiva bus into a mobile classroom focused on the conservation of endangered migratory birds. Building on the incredible work we've done so far, the Reinita Chiva will take our message of conservation even further, reaching more communities and expanding our focus to protect migratory bird species.
These birds, like the Reinita Cerúlea (Cerulean Warbler), travel vast distances between North and South America, and their survival depends on the conservation of habitats across continents. With the Reinita Chiva, we’ll continue delivering hands-on, engaging environmental education programs—this time with a focus on the critical role Colombia plays in the protection of migratory birds.
We are so excited for this new era of the Chiva bus, which builds on the sensational success of the Rana Chiva and brings a fresh focus to migratory bird conservation. Together, we are creating a ripple effect of awareness and action that crosses borders, protecting species and empowering communities to make a difference.
Thank you for believing in the power of education and for helping us take this next step! The future is bright, and with your continued support, we’ll keep spreading the message of conservation and protecting the incredible biodiversity of our planet.
With deep gratitude,
The Women for Conservation Team
