"Being a scholarship recipient has restored my dreams of completing my education. I joined when I was in grade 11 and now I am in my final grade (12). I am eager to complete my secondary school and see what the next chapter of my life has in store for me...I am so grateful for this opportunity and I hope that you can continue to support other girls remaining on the program."

The scholarship program at Lubuto provides school fees, notebooks, shoes, sanitaty napkins, school uniforms, stationary supplies, and everything else girls like Sarah need to succeed. To make sure that the girls continue to be supported, the scholarships are offered through the time the 53 girls graduate. They are empowered to follow their dreams thanks to your generosity.

In order to support these girls through graduation, and to offer scholarships to additional girls in Zambia’s Southern Province, we now only need $150 more. Please consider donating to keep these girls in school and give them all the tools they need to succeed.

"I am so grateful for this opportunity.  It has not only helped me, but has helped other girls who were out of school due to financial issues. The scholarship has provided me with everything I needed to complete my school."

Lubuto's scholarship program helps girls like Hope who can't afford to go to school. Providing them with everything they need to succeed, these scholarships support Hope and 52 other girls through their graduation. Included in the scholarships are school fees, notebooks, shoes, sanitary napkins, school uniforms, and stationary supplies. Hope and all of the other girls are empowered to follow their dreams thanks to your generosity.

In order to support these girls through graduation, and to offer scholarships to additional girls in Zambia’s Southern Province, we now only need $450 more. Please consider donating to keep these girls in school and give them all the tools they need to succeed.

“The scholarship program has lifted the financial burden off of my parents. My parents are happy knowing that through this scholarship, I am going to achieve my goals.”

Caroline, like many other girls in Zambia, comes from a family that can’t financially support her education. Through the scholarship program at the Lubuto libraries, she is now able to attend school full-time and focus on achieving her goals. The scholarship program not only provides school fees, but also provides recipients with notebooks, shoes, sanitary napkins, school uniforms, and stationary supplies. Caroline and 52 other girls are empowered to follow their dreams thanks to your generosity.

In order to support these girls through graduation, and to offer scholarships to additional girls in Zambia’s Southern Province, we now need to raise $20,000 more. Please consider donating to keep these girls in school and give them all the tools they need to succeed.

Last week, one of our scholarship recipients, Katie, came to the library to tell us that she had received an award at school for being the best students in her class. If it weren't for your generosity and support, Katie and the other girls who are a part of this program wouldn't be in school at all, much less be recognized for their academic excellence. Thank you for being part of unlocking the potential of these amazing young women, for giving them the opportunity to show the world how intelligent and capable they truly are. Thank you for allowing Katie to celebrate her accomplishment with the confidence that this will not be her last year in school. We are thrilled to see the impact of this scholarship program on Katie's life, and we look forward to continuing to change lives together for years to come.

Letter from Elizabeth
Letter from Elizabeth

There are still 25 girls just like Elizabeth whose lives have been changed by your generosity and who still need a scholarship for next school year. July 31st is the LAST DAY that funds received through GlobalGiving can be processed and dispersed in time for the start of the next school year. Please give TODAY so that all our girls can stay in school!

Transcript of Elizabeth's letter:

My names are Elizabeth, am doing Grade 10 at Olympia Park Secondary School. I am writing this later to think you for what you are doing for me. Because if it was not for the scholarship I would have dropped out of school, because of financial problem. I had lost hope of going to school because both of my parent are not working. All my dreams of becoming a doctor were gone. But when I was selected as one of the girls who would be in the scholarship I was very happy my goals of becoming a doctor were return back to me. Think to Lubuto Model Library. I thin you should continue paying for my education because I want to achieve my goal of becoming a doctor and I promise that I will pay extra attention at school and study extra heard and right note. You are my only hope am counting on you. You should not end here but continue paying for girls who are in need like me. Because you are really helping us girls a lot and I promise never to disspoint you. You are really doing a great job may you continue and I pray that my God bless for me. I also need you to trust me the I will never disspoint you. Thank you for understanding.
