Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing low-cost sanitation to poor communities here in Leyte. Typhoon Haiyan happened years ago but the problem of sanitation is persisting especially in areas where communities are very poor. This reporting period and with the help of local champions we were able to construct one unit 10,000-liter capacity rainwater harvester with the water harvested for use by a local school and the community around it. The number of beneficiaries for this effort is 175 individuals. One problem with providing sanitation is the access to water that can be used in flushing the toilet and in hand-washing. We tapped the assistance of the Department of Education so that the initiative becomes a model in their community. We are standing by in order to install some more of these harvesters in nearby communities. Help by supporter for our project in Leyte is dwindling so we requested support from local champions and organizations.
Again thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
