By Cora Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your kind support to our project providing low-cost sanitation in Leyte. The work, even if Typhoon Haiyan is many years gone is still great in terms of solving sanitation problems but help from local and international donors has dwindled already. The good thing is that we already have a permanent office and staff in Leyte and based in Albuera and this has given us direct contact to those who are most in need. This reporting period, we focus our attention to women-led households. Women-led in the sense that the women maybe single mothers or their husbands works far away usually in Cebu as daily wage labor in construction sites. We offer the women with dignity and protection in being able to use their own toilet espcially at night. With the help of local partners we are able to provide 12 low-cost but durable toilets to 12 women-led households. All of our beneficiaries express their satisfaction in being able to access this important facility. Many more are asking for our assistance and hoping that we will be able to provide them in the coming months.
Again, with my deepest gratitude.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
