NEW ORLEANS, LA -- Things are continuing to progress for the Louisiana Instrument Repair Initiative, though perhaps not as quickly as we had initially anticipated. But rather than rush our fundraising efforts and compromise our message, we have been taking time to refine and focus our message as we prepare for a national launch of our fundraising campaign.
We were very fortunate to have some students from Tulane University donate their time and talents to create a PSA for us that we hope to disseminate in the coming weeks. We were able to enlist the help and support of local musicians Irma Thomas and Delfeayo Marsalis. With the added aid of a local band director and some of his pupils, our call to action is strong and urgent: keep the music alive and the instruments a-comin'! We look forward to sharing this video with you, our donors and partners.
Thanks to an agreement with FedEx, we have arranged for free shipping of all instrument donations coming to Tipitina's Foundation. By following these directions, donors will be able to get their instruments to Louisiana quickly and at no cost to them. It has been a great pleasure working with FedEx in this regard.
