To our Generous GlobalGiving Donors and Partners:
We’d like to inform you that we are going to construct three more day care centers in Haiyan affected communities in Tacloban City (Philippines). If you could remember that this project you are supporting aims to construct more day care centers to facilitate the mental and physical development of children who are 2-4 years of age.
In the Philippines, a day care center is a vital facility for the protection and development of a child in the community as embodied in Philippine Republic Act 6972, an act establishing day care centers in every barangay. The provision of such facilities is actually the responsibility of local government units. However, after the impact of typhoon Haiyan, non-profit organizations (NPOs) such as Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc. saw the urgent need and the opportunity to work with the local government units and the affected communities to help the victims through in this endeavor.
We are very delighted to report to you that the preparations in the ground for the construction of the initial three day care centers such as community and stakeholder’s consultation had been done already. The recipient communities of day care centers were identified. They're thankful, and happy of the project. The facilities will rise in the municipalities of Tanauan, MacArthur, and Tolosa of Leyte Province which will benefit to 126 children age 2-4 years old. The projects have become possible because of the generosity of your hearts, our dear GlobalGiving donors.
Next month (May 2015), the construction will commence and the initial three day care centers are expected to be completed before the opening of the classes on June 2015. So once again we’d like to convey to you our profound gratitude for enabling us in helping the victims of typhoon Haiyan. We know that you have other more important priorities of your money but you share to us a portion of it because you are firmly convinced of the noble cause of this endeavor.
Cheers!
