ENLIGHT is a project aimed at empowering women though producing LED bulbs and marketting the same. 10 of our women from the slum was provided training in LED bulb making. They leant the same and started making bulbs but the marketing part was difficult. We contacted the nearby English medium school (Christ Nagar School) and made an agreement to tutor the chidlren energy saving techniques of LED bulb making workshop. The workshop was done by the women of the slum and the children and women together produced bulbs which was marketed by chidlren in their homes and neighbourhood. The project trained three batches of 40 children each and produced over 1000 bulbs so far and a new source of income for the women has been initiated.
The main objectives of the project are:
1) Inculcate energy saving culture among the children of Christ Nagar school
2) To help the children to get training on LED bulb assembling
3) To provide opportunity to the students to practicalyse the theories they have learnt
4) To help the women from Karimadom colony to market the LED bulbs
New ideas bring new interest among women which leads to sustainable income generation programs. THANK YOU for your support to sustain the programs
