This project will provide education through Early Childhood Development for 100 children aged 3 to 6 years who have no access to kindergarten in rural western Uganda. Without any intervention, these children are left to loiter or go with parents to the gardens hence missing critical educational and developmental stages that shape their future. Art of a Child has constructed 2 Early Childhood Development centers for these children to get an education alternative and a firm foundation.
Kabarole faces a significant gap in Early Childhood development as there are no free Nursery schools or ECD programs. This leaves young children in rural communities without the means to attain Early Childhood Development. Private ECD centres in the region are too far & expensive for majority of families. Without any intervention, these children are left to loiter or go with parents to the gardens hence missing critical educational and developmental stages that shape their future.
This project will provide direct support to 100 children by offering an affordable and sustainable education alternative at the Art of a Child Learning Centres. We are collecting $10,000 for 100 children for a full year. Specifically, contributions will cover the costs for uniforms, scholastic materials, toys, school fees, a school library and nutritious meals for each child.
Funding Early Childhood Development education for 100 children will break down barriers to learning and build a foundation for future success for these children in Kabarole. These children will gain essential academic, social, and emotional skills that position them to join the Primary School level of education in Uganda, hence reducing numbers of school drop outs and increasing their potential of retainment in higher institutions of learning.
