Across the country, Raising A Reader sites are beginning their book bag rotations and introducing quality children’s literature to families. After serving our millionth child last year, we are excited to see our programs remain strong and in many cases expand throughout the country.
Over the 2013-2014 year, Raising A Reader will support thousands of families develop reading routines, build early literacy skills by sharing award winning books and sustain literacy practices through libraries to arm families with a love of reading and a library card. With more than 21 special book collections, Raising A Reader makes it easy for families to engage in sharing the love of reading with their children. We will continue to share the stories we hear from programs across the country where we are making an impact.
We are also proud to announce that we have also received another matching pledge! All proceeds donated to support Raising A Reader will be matched at 100% through the end of the 2013. Your $35 pledge to support one existing child will turn into two children served.
