This Mother's Day = Classic Picture Books + Evidence-Based Literacy!

By Lauren Martin | Executive Director

Dear Donor,

Thanks to you, we have funding to donate over 2,000 books to children under four this summer. Every $3 donation is used to purchase high-quality, award-winning books containing a high percentage of the sight words vital to closing the preschool vocabulary and readiness gap. Through our partnership with book providers, First Book and Scholastic, children will receive classic picture books, including the following:

-       The Hungry Catepillar

-       Good Night Moon / Buenos Noches Luna

-       Make Way for Ducklings / Abran Paso A los Patitos

-       The Cat in the Hat

-       Green Eggs and Ham

-       Click, Clack, Moo

Your donation has not only helped build 2,000 home libraries for children under four years old; Every book also serves as an incentive for parents to subscribe to our free evidence-based literacy text message service provided by our partner, Ready4K. Each message offers succinct techniques to empower parents to help build their child’s early literacy skills. This Stanford University literacy program is proven to increase parent's reading engagement and children's print knowledge, expressive vocabulary, receptive vocabulary and overall literacy skills. Thank you for helping 2,000 at-risk children start preschool with the literacy skills they need to reach their full potential.

Finally, to spread the impact of your donation even further, print and share the Mother's Day Charitable Gift Card to make your past donations in honor of mom, grandma or any important loved one this Mother's Day!

Thank you!
