Dear Donor,
Thank you so much for your generous contribution. Because of you, we have successfully distributed books to 3,500 children attending 50 partnering day cares in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx. These day cares provide free and subsidized care to low-income children from 0 - 5 years old. Thanks to you, all 3,500 children now have their very own oversized, hard cover Disney Collection, containing 20 Disney Classic Stories (as seen in the attached images).
Recent and future contributions to Word Rebel's project are being used to provide books for the 2016 school year. Every $3 now provides 1 high-quality book. With your continued support, we are on track to raise $10,000 to donate 3,500 books by August 2016.
Thanks to you, Word Rebel continues to engage parents in daily reading and vocabulary activities to ensure every child starts preschool with the language skills they need to succeed. Every week, we send a literacy email containing three e-books, daily vocabulary words, a tip to teach vocabulary, and a reading comprehension question aligned to common-core standards. Now, hard working parents can build a culture of literacy in just 5 minutes a day. By sending books and reading skills straight to parents' cell phones, we make it easy to close the achievement gap before it starts.
