We cannot wait to visit our 60 amazing day care partners next week. As new families enroll in each day care, the dedicated program directors and social workers are coordinating hundreds of subscriptions to Word Rebel's weekly email-text service.
Jeanette at Educational Alliance said, "Parents love that every week they get 1-2 easy things they can do to help their child. They love that they can use their time on the bus or the train to read or talk, even if the time isn't a lot."
Angela from Bellevue Educare threw a holiday party in 2014 and was able to give every family 3 books thanks to Word Rebel supporters. She said, "Families love the assortment of books because each child gets to pick the book they want . Then the families started a system to swap books with each other so every family really got access to almost 30 books as opposed to just 1 or 2. I'm hoping to throw another holiday party this year if we have the funds."
As we visit our child care partners next week, we are so excited to inform them that they can expect shipments of award-winning books this fall.
Thank you for making story-time, and equal opportunity, a reality for 5,000 low-income children in NYC!
