Because of donors like you, we have raised a total of $7,000 in 2017 to launch another year of early childhood literacy programming. 2018 will be our fourth year building home libraries and empowering parents to teach vocabulary every day from birth – regardless of limited time, money and other socioeconomic barriers.
Our programs address one simple reality: The most accurate predictor of whether or not a child will graduate from high school is the number of words they know in preschool. To fight the cycle of poverty at its source, we serve children from infancy to four years old living in poverty in NYC.
You have made it possible for every child we serve to take home a brand new book in 2018 and their parents to receive an entire year of weekly literacy emails, evidence-based text messages and eBooks - proven to increase parent reading engagement and child reading skills. Moreover, we are on track to have 2018 be our first year to donate not just one but two books to every child we serve. Thanks to you, 1,500 at-risk children will start preschool with the vocabulary they need to succeed through high school graduation.
From everyone at Word Rebel, thank you for making equal opportunity a reality. We appreciate all you have done to support our cause.
