SEASONS GREETINGS to you and your family members, from team Freedom For You
In this New Year 2018, we pray to ALMIGHTY to bring more happiness, joy, good health & ever-lasting wealth to you ALL; Continue to contribute to a CAUSE dear to your HEART in this year too in larger measure.
The community around our Child Learning Center imparting early education in the slums of Rabale, have now understood the importance of “inclusive celebration” of family events, involving our tiny tots, 2-5 years, numbering over 70, whose parents are rag-pickers or daily laborers.
During the last few months we have seen a spurge in such inclusive celebrations with our marginalized children: a few major events held are: local Rotary Club Satellite City giving Gift hampers on the National Children’s day on Nov14, 2017, Christmas carnival celebrations, celebrating arrival of the New year 2018, a few birthdays of children from well-to-do families, our kith and kin donating books and stationery on remembrance days in memory of parents/grand parents and local famous Marathi Actor celebrating Indian Republic Day on Jan 26 with our tiny-tots etc.
All these ‘inclusive celebrations’ portend a robust and healthy change in positive behavior among the middle class population to involve these children from the down-trodden/marginalized families in their domestic/festive celebrations.
Amit Khatri, one such well-wisher and donor, celebrated his one-year old daughter's birthday amongst 70 odd tiny-tots in our center; An elated Amit says 'it gives us immense pleasure to come back to the center once again and gives me and my family a lot of peace-time and happiness at your center'. He had celebrated his Mother's 60th birthday in a grand manner at our center on Dec 2, 2017, and returned in Jan 2018 for his daughter's first birth anniversary.
Early education, as you all know, not only imparts basic education but also helps the child in becoming humane, compassionate, caring and a net contributing citizen in the nation building process.
Thanks to your generous donations for giving the vital Early Education to the rag-pickers/daily labourers children and championing our CAUSE, "LightUp Lives - Provide Early Edcn for 75 marginalized children" amongst your friends.
The facility at our Child Learning Center “Bal Niketan Vidyalaya” built with your help, has accommodated over 70 children, in the age group of 2 - 6 years, as on date.
We have concluded a contract with a donor company for funding the shortfall in our project cost, and have started ordering the necessary items required to run a full fledged child learning center, as planned at the early stages of this project. We hope the basic capex for creating full fledged facility will be completed in all respects in Feb 2018. Once this project is completed, we can accommodate approximately 125-135 marginalized tiny-tots.
Monthly recurring donations always help smaller projects like that of ours with monthly expense budget for meeting the operational overheads. We URGE YOU to contribute smaller amounts in recurring monthly donations & this would go a long way to meeting the increasing operating costs.
Freedom For You, is very happy and proud to inform you that we have been awarded two new badges from GlobalGiving: “TOP-RANKED ORGANIZATION GlobalGiving 2017 and VETTED ORGANIZATION GlobalGiving 2017”
