Dear Donor,

We have great news! our project is about to come to a successful closure!

In the past month we have been dealing with our expert' allies from Otepi in the process of the information previously gathered in our last visit to The Kamarata Valley, enabling us the establishment of the schedule for the installation of the solar panels grid. We have been selecting the right equipment, setting budgets, buying them, transporting them from Panama and Miami to Venezuela, nationalization paperwork, and setting the transportation to La Paragua airport (Bolivar state) and from there to the community, Kamarata.

Currently, we are finishing this process with Otepi, to complete the execution of this project, and finally empower Kamarata with the Sun.

From the last report, our progress is:

  • The purchase of the solar panels, and technical equipment.
  • Shipping set up from Panama established for the last days of January, available in La Paragua the first week of Februrary.
  •  We had a delayed in Miami because of supplier’s production complication, but we are expecting the solar panels in Venezuela by the first week of February.

All the selection and purchase of the equipment it has been processed by Otepi company.

When all the equipment is in La Paragua airport, Venezuela, will be sent to Kamarata with our Eposak and Otepi team, for the installation process, with a 9 days stay in the community. Also, we will be training the community in care and maintenance of the equipment, and the importance of clean energies.

Flights and logistic are already set up, only waiting for details from Otepi company to confirm dates.

Thank you so much for your support in this journey, and for bringing back the light to our beloved country.

Kind regards,

Eposak team.

Dear donor, we have very good news!

In the pursuit of this dream to empower Kamarata with the Sun and improve lives through a clean energy source that will make a change through better medical, educational and communicational opportunities, we have tireless seek for the fulfillment of all expectations.

We want to tell you the progress we've achieved these last months:

  • We went in our first trip to the community to collect all the specific loads & tech info with our ally in the installation process OTEPI.
  • Currently, we are working with OTEPI to purchase the right equipment and start with the nationalization paperwork.

Obstacles we are dealing with currently:

  • Giving the unstoppable inflation of the economy in Venezuela and the gasoline shortage, the light aircraft company was forced to change the pricing of the flights.

Right now we are trying to solve that budget gap requiring to further funds. Hopefully we will overcome this obstacle soon enough to start in early trimestral 2020 the installation trip with all the equipment.

We feel very thankful for all of the small and big amounts of help that we've received along the way to successfully deliver this energy, because together we are going to make this happen, we are winners!!

Will keep you posted, thank you very much for this blessing that means so much in so many lives.

Kind Regards,

Giovanna from Eposak.

We are getting closer!
We are getting closer!

Dear donor,

Things have become even harder in our country since the last report, that's why we are working hard to solve all the logistical problems involved in making such a big project in such a remote community.

But that still can’t stop us. We consider ourselves tireless warriors and will keep on working hard to fulfill our dreams of supplying solar power to Kamarata. We trust that this will be just the beginning of a huge wave of light that shall cover lots of unique and underdeveloped communities in our country.

Thanks to our donors, we are glad to announce we are close to our goal. We don't have words to describe how thankful we are with everyone who has believed in this dream and helped in their own way.

We are so excited to tell you all the progress we have had so far with this project, all thanks to our donor´s generosity:

  • The Charity Gala of Stanford University, GSB Gives Back, took place last March 22nd. They already processed the results, and since late May we count with the funds.
  • We are working hand in hand with Otepi, designing and resizing the technical project to the different scenarios, according to our fundraising efforts.
  • BCD Travel decided to support us with a match of USD $3000, depending on the money we raise next few months before the project execution.
  • The British Embassy in Venezuela approved the rest of the budget needed for the realization of the project.
  • Great news! We estimate to start with the execution of the project in Kamarata, next August.

Even we have reached the goal we set, some costs have changed, and we still need support to cover the logistical details. All help is welcomed! We need you! Venezuela needs you! We know that you are always looking for a way to support, to bring light. This is a great opportunity to support a cause that will help to solve so many problems in one of the most special places in the world, the back yard of the Angel Falls, the place were more than 3000 indigenous pemones kamarakotos live: The Kamarata Valley.

We are counting on you today and always to make this world a better place. Thank you for all the light you bring to Venezuela!

Dear donor,

We are having such a hard time here in Venezuela…

The Electric Power crisis now hits all the country, and not only The Kamarata Valley. But that can’t stop us; we know with our hearts that if we can supply solar power to Kamarata, that will be just the beginning of a huge wave of light that shall cover lots of unique and underdeveloped communities in our country.

In the meantime, we are so excited to tell you all the progress we have had the last three months with this project:

  • The Charity Gala of Stanford University, GSB Gives Back, took place last March 22nd. Now they are processing the results, and we will count with the funds in early May.
  • We are working hand in hand with Otepi, designing and resizing the technical project to the different scenarios, according to our fundraising efforts.
  • BCD Travel decided to support us with a match of USD $3000, depending on the money we raise next few months before the project execution.

We still are USD $9000 away from our obligatory minimum goal to be able to develop this project. We hope to start carrying out the project on the second trimester of the current year.

Dear donor, you are the best!

We are really moved by all those who have joined to support this project.

We want to tell you some good news that has happened in parallel to this GlobalGiving fundraising campaign:

The first is that "Lights On!" was voted as one of the recipients projects for the Charity Gala of Stanford University, GSB Gives Back, which will take place during the first trimester of 2019.

The second is that Panasonic of Venezuela, decided to donate 5 solar panels for the technical equipment required by this project.

We keep moving everywhere, looking for changemakers that, like you, want to take their support to another level, and manage to provide electrical power to the schools and rural hospital in the Kamarata Valley. However, and despite all the support mentioned above, we are still more than USD $10,000 away from our goal.

December is a perfect time to give and to shine, so we invite you to be the light for those who need it the most, and donate a bit more so that this project can become a beautiful reality.

Take a look to our new promotional spot for this project, and please share it with your friends and family: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzXLxmszhbI

We appreciate your support immensely, we'll continue working tirelessly, and we are counting on you today and always to make this world a better place. Thanks a lot!
