On March 2 was our first sale of harvested products in the orchard of our foundation; part of the products sold were basil, rosemary, aloe vera and scallion. The sale was held by the allied company Emerson that apart from being part of the initial investment, dreams as us that the area will be exploited in its full potential. The success of the orchard is the result of the effort carrying out by Mrs. Soveyda, Mrs. Tere and her two daughters, Genesis and Isabel, every week.
We are also thankful to Hugo, our volunteer teacher of Regenerative Designing Roots and to the Restaurant Furca by its program Furca Cares, which made possible the creation of the orchard. The 100% of the raised during the sales is the payment for them by their hard work, which certainly motivates them to continue giving the best in order that this project moves on.
¡Our successful team!
Lifting Hands counts with a successful cleaning team composed of Mrs. Sobeyda, Teresa and Rosario, which are volunteer mothers of the foundation and have demonstrated their love and dedication for keeping clean and tidy the facilities for all the community. They attended to clean Wednesdays and Saturdays and have become part of the Lifting Hands Team not only as volunteers but also as beneficiaries on taking classes both for them and their daughters. They tell us about their experiences below:
Sobeyda: I´m volunteer in the work of cleaning and in the orchard. I feel good and grateful with the foundation and this is a way to demonstrate it. Lifting Hands is part of my life, since I take classes and my daughter Genesis as well. It is a pleasure to work as volunteer for Monica and Mariola.
Teresa: I´m very grateful because they help me and to my daughter Isabel. Both me and my daughter take classes; they help her to study and play as well; In the foundation have encouraged her to move forward in her studies and to not lose interest in the school. Also, the people who work in the foundation are very nice and kind with me.
Rosario: I like to help; it makes me feel peaceful and happy. When I have time, it is a pleasure to give back to people that have helped us so much. However, we have to help without expecting anything in return. It has to be done from the heart. With the help of the foundation I have learned a lot.
¡We thank to Sobeyda, Teresa and Rosario for this great contribution that benefits us all!
